What are the small craft you added?

I updated the Hadrian and with all the extra space, I armored and protected everything and gave it a meson cannon. Also added fusion barbettes. Used all the space and it's a bit more dangerous now.

I also updated the Crossbow to add armor and protection. I liked the biosphere idea and used it on both as well.

I added Marines, a biosphere, and EMP/power protection to the Warmonger. I had drop to thrust 1, but it's not like it was running anyway. And I added a thousand fusion barbettes to the previous thousand.

Do you think the additions were worth the trade off?

My 'Small craft' are unspecified (and, as yet, undesigned) 100 dTon modular (or maybe 'Breakaway Hull') craft. I will need to take some time to look over the changes, but it sounds like you improved on an already sound design.

I, on the other hand, started tweaking my 'Dreadnought BR', and ended up doubling the tonnage -- same sized Spinal Mount Weapon, though.

I just noticed something that you might want to keep an eye on. In my excel spreadsheet, the point defense lasers on the Hadrian correctly say the power draw is 225 for ten of them with the energy efficient advantage. When I uploaded the sheet, it shows it as using 75 power and I didn't change anything. Looks like a glitch in how google sheets is doing things and as you use it, you might get bitten.

My Corvette class BR is a bit different from your Hornet -- I carry 5 extra Sensor stations, 'Military Counter-measures', and 3x Type-IIIL PD batteries. The Large Bay is also a Particle Beam Bay, so it is less deadly, but capable of plinking targets at 'Distant' range. Oh, and also 'Broad Spectrum EW' so that running out of sensor actions still gives some sort of result.

Sounds good. Do you think the Hornet would be better with particle beams? Might keep killing enemies at longer ranges before they get to be a real threat.

Meson Cannon vs Particle Beam is a situational choice. I went with the longer range Bay, with Intense Focus (thank you 'Canon Tigress write-up'!) & High Yield so that I might be able for forestall some missile-boat builds -- but it may not be optimal against a heavily defended short range brawler-type opponent.

I did see that I had enough space on the TL-15 version to make the countermeasures suite into a military countermeasures suite and get an additional +2 to jamming. I'll update the files accordingly. That'll make them tougher for sure.

I now have a new goal, a 'fleet sensor support ship'; two or three redundant cutting edge Sensor systems, maybe a X-boat relay-type communications array, the best signal processing available, minimal 'stay with the fleet drives' & light armor (probably armor 12 to 15), and some defensive weaponry.

t has to come in at or below the 7500 dTon maximum, and MUST MAXIMIZE extra sensor stations. The goal is to absolutely maximize number of Sensor actions per round. The 420 character limit is BS.

I've been thinking of Hornets designed as defensive escorts. All point defense to help kill the inevitable waves of missiles that will come their way. If even one in eight is rigged up that way, it will do a number on them.

I just created one with no offensive weapons, 10 type III-L point defense units, 3 advanced sensor arrays, and 34 extra sensor stations so it gets 35 sensor actions, including jamming, and 5 enhanced signal processing instances and 5 military countermeasures suites. I'll have to look to see if that even does anything. It seems like a good EW version, but the rules will dictate if it is effective.

It reads like additional sensor stations only allow different tasks, not multiple uses in jamming. Well, that might be a bust, but one bird in 10 with 10 point defense units is still a viable addition. It means each group of ten Hornets has 28 point defense instead of 20. Almost a 50% increase with only a 10% loss of offensive power.
