    yeah, there'll be a few differences but they are minor. You'll need to add Resilience skill ratings and such but thats easy enough

    Writing up NPCs

    For skills, I just assign an overall skill rating and extrapolate stat stuff as needed. f.x. "guard 50%" If he's rolling stuff that isn't quite guard related, do it at -20 By and large, I prefer having players roll, than having NPCs roll, but MRQ2 does expect a lot of opposed rolls.

    Initiative!

    Most fights are fairly few rounds. Having extra dice can be handy, if your players aren't keen on keeping track of stuff in their head. Just use two sets with different colours.

    The original "Glorantha 2nd age" book did a marvelous job at explaining a lot of "what do these people do, and why would I work for them?" stuff. I hope thats the case for the new book as well.

    Well, a lot of games can be played with a lot less stuff. But yes, the pile of stuff I drag to our Rolemaster game is pretty big :) Character law, arms law, spell law, companions 1-4, arms companion, monsters&treasure (or whatever its called) and War law. Yikes.

    Im not sure how C&C handles it but my general rules of thumb (and I am rather interested in a horse&musket era RQ game): Damage is high but not insanely so. (poor propellant but a big soft lead ball does bad things to you) Slow reload times obviously. Once skill reaches 75%, reload times drop...

    This will probably be a fairly straight forward Dragon pass romp. So mostly I just need whatever stuff covers the Orlanthi cults, and any special options for them with regard to professions and such. Or maybe a re-run of an old 3rd edition duck campaign we did :D

    So it looks like we'll be doing MRQ2 soon. Other than the new 2nd age Glorantha book, are there any other "essentials" for a fairly basic Gloranthan game? I imagine there's a Cult book as well? What about dragon magic stuff's ? Cheers!

    A few rules questions

    You are right on the book keeping. I do sort of like it being by action, as it reigns in the people using shields a bit. A big chunk of wood and steel is pretty tiring to haul around. But we'll try it out and see how it goes. Most combats don't last all that long anyways :)

    I'd say it depends on how often you play, and how often you give out improvement rolls. As written, the game seems like it definately assumes a very long term campaign, so if that isn;t the case for you, you'll want to reduce it slightly.
