What miniatures do you use for VAS?

I use Panzerschiffe for ships and several different manufacturers for planes. I like the place Panzerschiffe sits on the scale of detail versus cost.

    Russo-Japanese War

Very good news indeed. While I may not have the money to build up a pre-dreadnought fleet right now, it is a project I would be interested in for the future and I would certainly buy a Victory at Sea book about the era.

    Crew

I dropped Crew scores from my ships once for a game I was running that included some non-wargamers. I ended up liking it quite a bit and I'm glad to hear that there is some interest in this variant among the developers of the game.

[Age of Dreadnoughts] Special Actions per turn

Page 49 of Age of Dreadnoughts suggests that ships may not normally take more than one special action per turn. However, page 13 specifically mentions that ships may only attempt one special action that requires a command check each turn. This suggests that any number of the others may be...

[Agoe of Dreadnoughts] Firing arc confusion

Thank you for the clarification! Also, I appreciate how you stick around on the message boards and offer suggestions and rules answers. I know that a lot of game designers don't.

    [Great War] Soundtrack

What music would be good for background music to play during an Age of Dreadnoughts game? So far, my list is pretty short: British are winning: Its a Long Way to Tipperary God Save the King Germans are winning: Wagner (just about anything) Any suggestions?

    "Agoe" of Dreadnoughts? Oops!

[Agoe of Dreadnoughts] Firing arc confusion

The firing arc descriptions on page 9 don't seem to line up with diagram on page 8 of Age of Dreadnoughts. (1) Fore/Aft are described as 270-degree (135x2) arcs centered on the appropriate direction. The diagram suggests that Fore and Aft should be 90-degree arcs, like Port and Starboard. (2)...

    The question of scale

Panzerschiffe 1:2400 for me. The price/quality comparison is great.

    Additional ship stats

Thank you! One question though: Not war? I've been thinking about the Tosa and Amagi. My gut instinct is that they should be at Battle priority, (that is to say, they are not the equal of Yamato) but 10 x 16-inch guns out-classes the battle-level Nagato.

    Additional ship stats

Traditionally, I've not had much interest in fantasy ships - ships that were never completed, or in some cases, never even started. My only real exception to that rule was the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. Recently, however, I've changed my mind on this matter - mainly because campaign games...

Do we have stats on these planes? US Army's P-38 Lightning IJN's "Mavis"

    How to base ships?

I usually differentiate between my ships of the same class with a marker of some sort if it isn't obvious by position. That being said, one of these days, I'm going to start basing them, hehe.

    Favorite Ships

Some responses for the Great War: Dreadnought - probably Colossus or some other ship with an odd-ball arrangement of turrets. You just don't see stuff like this in later periods so it is fun to play when you can. Battlecruiser - HMS Tiger for aesthetic reasons or Moltke for historical...

    Favorite Ships

[Old thread, I know, but one that didn't get enough responses!] My favorites: Battleship - IJN Fuso; she feels like some old dragon crawling out of her cave to do battle one last time. Battlecruiser - RN Hood and IJN Kongo; ships designed along the lines of HMS Tiger are, in my opinion, among...
