Yep, annoyed me in 2023 aswell. I don't really care if someone wants to be politically correct or not, but this is imho  culture. I'll just skip the physical book this time and settle for the pdf, crack it, and correct it.

I still haven't decided if I should get the book or not. The discussion about battle dress is interesting, but now the million dollar question: Does the marines carry FGMP-15, or has this iconic weapon been renamed in this book as well?

Please, please, please stand above todays politics and restore the names of the two most iconic weapons in Traveller: PGMP and FGMP. 🙏🙂

It would make life alot easier many times. E.g. a scope that gives DM+1 equals 10 % in the D10 system, but is "unpredictable" in the 2D6 system. One problem is that 10 % steps are quite large, better with 5 %. But then we're talking about a D20, and... 😉

I have no real life experience with EW, but I always found GDWs 2300AD rules to be simple and intuitive.

Or just the Core Rulebook and The Last Flight of the Amuar. That adventure alone will give you many sessions with different types of challenges.

Yes, and it should be kept on a very abstract level. Trying to figure out the capabilities of computers hundreds or thousands years into the future is doomed to fail. (That goes for most technology predictions, but when it comes to computers the rules will be outdated within a year or two.)

Not everyone lives in the US, and Mongoose is located in UK. Just saying... 😉

My guess is that most people just doesn't care. That this really is a non-issue for most people, rpg fans or not. Just my two cents.
