Honestly, my main concern is whether they are still editing the book before it goes to print because there seem to be some real problems with omissions and errors in the layout. PDFs are easily updated but I'd hate to get a print book with the errors I'm seeing.

In terms of vehicles, I completely agree with you. I never had trouble creating cars or grav vehicles as needed. Starships, on the other hand, greatly benefit from having access to the build system IMHO.

I completely understand the logic but it is a considerable break with previous Traveller editions. Starship design has always been a core mini-game even if it's just up to 2000 dtons (which many considered a feature). I know I will miss those rules. Also, removing them limits play to the ships...
