Need inspiration for a galactic menace

I have the most insidious infection to ever befall a planet for you. The disease appears after a climatic catastrophy, displacing the naturally superior life forms and begins to breed without constraint. It destroys all the flora and fauna with it's relentless drive to manipulate it's...

    How do Gravity drives work??

Perpendicular Gravity sheer is a Gravity "Force" directed at a 90 degree angle to the plane of rotation. Visual aid: stick a pencil through a donut, the donut is your Particle Accellerator, the pencil would be the Gravity Sheer. "Thrust" along that line. Gimbled means mounting the engine in...

    Planet Crackers

It's exactly like crackers, but not animal, more like Cheesits. Giant cheese wedge of destruction into planet... swoooosh Cheesit!

    How do Gravity drives work??

Particle Accelerator on high speed acceleration produces a perpendicular gravity sheer. Gimbled drives would have no problems, stationary mountings would produce Bright photon emissions and EMP type interference as well as heat discharge when vectored against the plane of emission. This is why...

    Planet Crackers

I think in the Death Star's case and the Independence Day Motherships, they did it because they can. It was a frightening demorilizing action that let those they oppressed know in no uncertain terms that the time of fork sticking had come.

    Planet Crackers

Blowing up a certain planet currently infested by a particularly nasty virus referred to as primates with a micro colapsar weapon would make most sentients sleep better even if said virus believes the effect is "Space Opera."

    Lego:Traveller the meme continues....

What Lego sets are these ship builders getting their parts from?

    Planet Crackers

"small" colapsars tend to explode at a certain mass limit, releasing their entire mass charge, easily blowing the planet apart.

    Planet Crackers

OK, so I'll just fire a "small" colapsar into the planets core and all the Death Star pyrotechnics would just be the containment fields.

    Planet Crackers

As pointed out elsewhere there is massive magnetic energies built up in Earth's core and surrounding the planet as well as those fields interacting with the suns magnetosphere. As for iron fusion, that's what happens at the end of a star's life just before a supernova. Sure, your going to cry...

NASA Wants Help In Naming A Space Station Node

Docking is at the hubs like 2001 Space Odyssey. Energy for spin up can be achieved for free by docking shuttles at the rim until speed is at required rate.

    Fighting Ships

I like the book, but agree about the art not matching up and the larger ship deckplan detail being fuzzy. Also deck 39 of the Tigress has a much larger font/ image than all the other deck pages.

NASA Wants Help In Naming A Space Station Node

I think it should be called, "Stupid design not incorporating spin for pseudo-gravity thus leading to a death trap for humans that scientists in the 50's were smart enough to consider." Heck, they designed an inflatable rotating station back then!

    Planet Crackers

Maybe if the meson spinal could ne tuned to the right frequency to cause a chain reaction charge build up of the iron core causeing it to fuse....
