Should maned small combat crafts be deleted from chartered space?

Communication and potentially being hacked though is different to drone active control, which has range restrictions too iirc, being cut off. The robot can at least still act out it's primary or last order where the drones would just wait for the next order once cut off. At least from what I...

Should maned small combat crafts be deleted from chartered space?

The biggest thing against robot fighter pilots is that the 3I doesn't trust robots with guns. Controlled drones maybe but then you run the risk of electronic warfare disabling the drones. So, zhodani who have no issue with war bots having guns might have robot fighter pilots but the 3I has a...

Should maned small combat crafts be deleted from chartered space?

With the vehicle book having ejection capsules I wonder if putting similar into fighters to save the pilot, biological or robotic, might be worth the investment especially as that solves one of the issues with fighters.

Should maned small combat crafts be deleted from chartered space?

If you're willing to bother with implants you could cut the training time down but I'd have to do the math on if that ended up being efficient cost wise compared to just building a robot.

    VHB 2026 Errata

I noticed that bio tech vehicles in the updated book don't have the +10% shipping size/volume that it had in the previous book. Is that an intentional change?

Interesting, though not dangerous, biomes in the Solomani Rim

That makes me think of the dolphin or orca style ships and how their bio spheres would operate. As for my own suggestion my mind goes to a food forest style wooded area. You are able to relax in "nature" with lots of ground level berries or other such easy to grab treats.

Other RPGs That You Use In Your Traveller Games

There are some things from the 40k universe and their rpgs I've drawn on occasionally. There are two that stand out for me. The first the "Gellar field", basically an energy field instead of a hydrogen bubble to keep jump space out, used as a prototype tech but not changing the galaxy at large...

    Quick question on "Zombies"

Very much ya, this sums up why I felt I had to be missing something. Especially as they feel very much like a budget approach to make a labour "drone" but it doesn't cost like a budget version.

    Quick question on "Zombies"

Lobotomizing the individual and "hijacking" the processing power of the brain with an implant rather than a full replacement is something I've been considering the more I look at this. Still terrible but adds the extra layer of cold efficiency if it saves money by cutting corners on the...

    Quick question on "Zombies"

RH pg 66, basic(x) TL 8 brain CR 20,000. On the following page it does also call out that retro tech discount doesn't apply (or already accounted for) with brains below very advanced. Then on pg 88 where it details bio bots "As with an android, the biological robot option triples the physical...

    Quick question on "Zombies"

Minor note, zombies are 100k credits. The basic brain it has gets a x3 for being a bio bot brain, I'd assume that accounts for the interface, which only really accounts for 60k of that 100

    Quick question on "Zombies"

It does triple the cost, listed in the bio bot description just before cyborg stuff, but the zombie only has a basic brain which after that still only comes to 60k credits. Doing up the rest in the robot creation steps I saw the body+locomotion taking up 30k~ which was why I felt with the...

    Quick question on "Zombies"

That is definitely more the angle I'm looking at, those in power of a planet imposing it as a capital sentence. It being a great punishment that allows one to contribute beyond "death" helping to alleviate the social stigma while not having people fear being grabbed from their homes. I...

    Quick question on "Zombies"

The "zombies" bio bots found in the robot handbook price seems to be quite high for something described as often being supplemented with an already developed body instead of creating a bio bot from scratch. Is it safe to assume that a chunk of the listed value for these zombies comes from the...
