    Reach weapons

As long as the target moving from the threatened square didn't only move a 5-foot step, in which case no AoO applies (unless he then casts a spell or something similar).

    Knowledge Tactics

I agree with usdmw on this. It sounds like there was a decision to change the name of the skill during the editorial process that hasn't been picked up in all cases.

    Monsters by type (Undead)

Except for Fortitude saves... Undead (and constructs) only add their level based bonus (level / 3) to their Fortitude saves. However, they are immune to any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless the spell description states otherwise.

Taking a 5-foot step to avoid AoO?

You could not take a 5-ft step to move away from an opponent, then "officially" disengage as you are suggesting as you cannot perform a 5-ft step in the same round as you use a move action to move any distance. In other words, once you have made a 5-ft step, you cannot move any further. If, on...

Attack of opportunity entering a threatened area?

I agree with Trodax in that Mobility only works against AoOs provoked by moving, not any move action. The description states "...against attacks of opportunity caused when he moves out of or within a threathened area." Although the second part to that ("or within a threatened area") makes it...

    Non sorcerer scholar/thief feats

While Skill Focus doesn't break the max ranks cap as such, it does allow a 1st level character to have 4 ranks, plus +3 from Skill Focus plus his stat bonus, for a total of possibly +10 if the appropriate stat is 16.

It can't be long now - the Mongoose chaps had it at GenCon UK, so it must be on general release fairly soon...

Grapple question and Ranged Finesse observation/question.

Ranged weapons lose AP over distance...

Grapple question and Ranged Finesse observation/question.

Dex should only be a legitimate Grapple modifier if it mentions in the creatures description that it has the ability to do so... It's similar to vermin in D&D using Dex for Climb rolls instead of Str.

5' Step and AoA - AE does not clarify!

Because you can't take a 5 ft. step in a round in which you move any distance. I agree with you in the fact that if you take a 5 ft. step, you combine it with the action you are taking so it takes no action in itself. Therefore, it is conceivable that Valeria combined a 5 ft. step with a move...

    Improved Feint?

When it is a move action, you can feint and attack in the same round, while when it is a standard action, you have to feint one round, then attack the next round. You do, however, get to use a full attack if you do it over 2 rounds whereas you will only ever get a single attack while using...

5' Step and AoA - AE does not clarify!

Well, with the minor alteration of pedantism from Ralph (I knew what I meant, I just worded it badly!), I think we're now all agreed on what the Conan rules are for a 5 ft. step. Now all it needs is someone from Mongoose to tell us we're all wrong so we can start all over again...

5' Step and AoA - AE does not clarify!

I always thought the rule was there to stop an archer from taking a 5 ft. step away from his enemy and unleashing a full attack of arrows, something that could never realistically be done. In actuality, if an archer tried that, the warrior would follow with him, but the d20 combat system...

5' Step and AoA - AE does not clarify!

That depends... As far as I can see from your description, the 5 ft. step is never provoking the AoO, just the action (that would normally provoke an AoO anyway). The way the rule is written, the 5 ft. step provokes the AoO, not the action.

5' Step and AoA - AE does not clarify!

Sorry :? I think we need a Bob ruling on this one to sort it out...
