I like your idea of using a miss-jump to get them to Farreach.
In my Traveller campaign there are two PC's that served together and both have reoccurring dreams of something 'just out of their reach'. Sometimes a voice can be heard saying "Reach farther" or "Reach far". Often the dreams end...
Railgun Barbette:
Though the rounds a railgun uses are low technology
armor penetrators, the weapon itself uses electromagnetic
forces to accelerate them to sizable fractions of the
speed of light, delivering a high dose of kinetic energy
to the target. Railgun turrets contain enough...
These rules make any PC comms/sensor operators more vital to the ships survival.
Being able to sustain a jam can mean the difference between death or fleeing from a larger vessel.
I would run Sensor Jams and Communications Jams as offensive attacks during the attack phase.
And count breaking...
I see jamming as and additional action.
Correction: Jamming sensors should use the same rules as jamming communications
Jamming can be broken in the same way as a senor lock can be broken, by an opposing Electronics (Comms) check.
Basically a Sensor Jam is the opposite of a sensor lock.
If a Sensor Jam is successful the attacking ship receives a bane on all attacks.
Feel free to comment.
Suppose I have 2 Plasma Pulse Cannons mounted on a turret
2D Damage, Auto 4
If firing a burst at a single target, would they cause
2D (base)+ 2 (D of second weapon) + 4 (auto)+ effect,
or does the auto stack in some way like the base d damage?
I think I am going to introduce a new rule:
Slug throwers do 1/2 damage against vehicles
AP, HEAP and Energy weapons do full damage
Melee weapons do 1/2 damage
Energy melee weapons do full damage
Chime in and let me know your thoughts...
Does a well equipped player character really have more armor and hit points than a Gecko Assault Vehicle?
Will 2 or 3 shots with a revolver really destroy an air raft?
Am I missing something?
How about that some of the characters are older that others and started their careers earlier.
just have all the characters muster out at about the same time.
Got these from an old MegaTraveller magazine...
Q: How many Vilani does it take to change a light bulb?
A: I'm not sure. What does the manual say?
Q: How many Solomani does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Fewer than everyone ELSE dang it!
Q: How many Zhodani does it take...
A: ...to change...
