I have nothing against the spaces system, I would just like it to be clear and consistent. A vehicle size should be total spaces, with available construction spaces as indicated: 8 space/4 construction the scaling should be consistent 4 spaces is equal to a displacement ton - is that 4 total...

But it isn't one space. It is one space that you equip with stuff and one hidden space that you can't modify. A 1 space vehicle is really 2 spaces, a 10 space vehicle is really 20 spaces etc.

Which doesn't alter that fact that a 1 space vehicle is really 2 spaces. There is a lot of stuff in that 1 space that you can not modify or build with.

1 space is 2 spaces, you only build inside the 1 space though. So the 1 space bike is really 2 spaces and thus requires half a displacement ton for shipping.

Yes they are both in the advanced, but one set of numbers is copy and pasted from the basic character generation numbers. And that is where one set of the numbers come from, they should not have been put in the advanced section, or the advanced numgers that conflict with basic could.should be...

One is for the basic character generation, the other is for the advanced. The best thing to do is ignore the checkpoint lists and look at the charts and tables. It is a well known SNAFU and not exactly out of sorts with similar differences if you check LBB:1 basic characters entry numbers...

GURPS got it wrong and the error was carried forward. I have been bringing this up for years - MgT should go back to the original Alien Module rather than compound errors made by third parties. Proles can hold any military rank up to general and admiral, they are limited in political positions...

Which is why I stick with broad skills. The only other solution is to grant a lot more skills for certain career paths.

One of the issues is that the setting no longer matches the rules that are supposed to describe it. The same can be levelled at most of the ship combat systems Traveller has had over the years, with the exception of TNE. Under current rules build lots of the smallest hulls with one 500t bay...

I hope they are generic enough to be used for any setting.
