    RPGs similar to Deus Vult?

One does his best to fill half of the book with scenarios, and then user comment is "not enough published adventures" :D The miniscenario The Hounds of Adranos is for an older version of Stupor Mundi but you should probably be able to find it somewhere. Perhaps even on DTRPG. Or PM me, it is...

    14th Century campaign

Yup. As Simon said, it is a good adaptation. You have also shown a damn good example of how fighting styles should be designed. I think your campaign will be a success.

New to Legend but crazy enough to try and run for 20 people

The sweet spot for this system is 3-5 players, but I have played in several combat-oriented sessions with an average of 6-7 players last summer, and it worked pretty well. The GM had to user poker chits for opponent CAs. He did not even use general HPs for NPCs. So the bottom line is: do it, it...

    RuneQuest 6

AFAIK, they were already freelancers for Mongoose when they quit MGP and joined Moon Design. I doubt this will happen. But I would be happy to be proven wrong :D Mongoose has already discussed this with Issaries, and the conclusion was the termination of the agreement. As you can see, all...

    RuneQuest 6

I have opened a thread about the license issues on the Design Mechanism forums. Maybe it is more respectful if we do not discuss the details of other companies' policies on the Mongoose Forums. I suppose Pete and Loz will continue to post rules clarifications here, but it could become...

    RuneQuest 6

This is a point for Lawstaff to clarify. And, as the license is being rewritten to fit RuneQuest, it is a very good time to do it.

    RuneQuest 6

This. Done. With written, explicit Moon Design approval. So it can be done. We just put a big "Alternate" in boldface at the top of the rules page. As for competition, both economics and evolutionary science will tell you that "Competition is good".

    RuneQuest 6

Newt has already answered in full, but I will stress it once more. While Newt has a book in the making that provides alternate rules for HeroQuest through the Gateway license, I have a published one that does so. You _can_ put alternate rules in, if you want. You do not even need approval for...

    RuneQuest 6

Although this might sound like heresy now, it could probably be the best solution.

    Special Successes?

It _could_ work. However, I would not recommend doing it. How the game is balanced is slightly different between the two, and you risk breaking something if you increase the chance of a success that "beats" anothter success. Especially in combat.

    Solution to Choose Location

Missile CMs should be somehow different from melee ones, you are correct. Unfortunately time was a little limited, I suppose Loz and Pete could have devised something more accurate in a longer timeframe. But I am still very happy about how RQII handles melee, and this makes me willing to accept...

    Solution to Choose Location

Or send in a horde of goblins with high Resilience (it would be very ineffective to use repeated Choose Location against them), and have THEM use trip and disarm to defeat the adventurers - this will teach them how to fight in RuneQuest II.

    Solution to Choose Location

I see. There is a point that is not clear to you, here. Leaving all tactical decision except what skill to roll to _after_ you have rolled is a design technique. It is known as "fortune in the middle" among rpg theoreticians. It means that you describe the result of your action as a function of...

    Solution to Choose Location

Oh. Then D&D has the Big Problem of Armour Class, since I, as a player, really really dislike it. And there is a poll on RPG.net that says that many more do not like it. Seriously, the fact that one - or more - posters said that they find it overpowered does not make it "a problem". It just...

    Solution to Choose Location

Again, there is no "Choose Location" problem that needs a solution. The manoeuvers that are too powerful have been singled out during playtest and nerfed (the playtest rules had no crit-only manoeuvers). We were absolutely aware that Choose Location was the most frequently used manoeuver, and...
