We can live in hope. But they are pretty busy with Traveller at the moment. Not that I'm complaining! That's eating up some of my income too...
Maybe it's time for a Legend Bundle of Holding?
I still think there is room in the market for a system somewhere between OpenQuest and Mythras / BR:UGE in terms of complexity. I like all these games, but OpenQuest is a bit too lightweight and Mythras / BRUGE have too many subsystems. Legend has always had the potential to hit that sweet spot.

You quack me up!
But seriously, there are some interesting synergies developing in the d100 arena at the moment.
Newt Newport released the latest version of OpenQuest under Creative Commons.
Chaosium released the latest edition of Basic Roleplaying under the ORC license.

The tradeoff is that the TAS Community Content Creators Program allows you to use the OTU setting and associated IP in commercial products. The Traveller Compatible License only allows you to use the game system - not the setting. It us royalty-free but assumes you have your own setting. Also...
I should add that once FFE adds Mongoose Traveller to the Fair Use Policy, broad non-commercial use of the IP is permitted. But the key words are non-commercial. You can't publish products under this license.
I don't believe this is true. The Traveller Compatibility Licence is a legal contract between Mongoose and the publisher producing the downstream products. We know nothing of the licensing terms, save that it is royalty-free and that Mongoose will promote approved third-party products. It is not...
The terms of the Compatibility Licence are not available for review and eligibility is restricted to established publishers. From what has been said here, it sounds like the new licence is "open" in the sense of being royalty free and allowing participants to retain some control over their own...
That would be reasonable, but it still takes time and effort to clean the scans to the required standard for POD. The FFE facsimile edition of the three core LLBs is a good start (even if it has a white cover...lol). Maybe test the water with a PoD volume combining Mercenary, High Guard, and Scouts?
It would be nice if Mongoose revived the omnibus print editions. Technology has moved on since the old scans were made, so a project to clean them up for republication would be welcome.I'm not sure if there is any money to be made in doing this though.
I don't know they will come back into the tent unless they can retain full ownership of their original IP. Honestly...the current situation is OK. There are multiple licensing options for different purposes. And WoTC is unlikely to touch the OGL again for a while, so CE will stick around for...
I think there is room for both approaches. MgT is a more "complete" ruleset, but CE is lighter. It also has a retro "Classic Traveller" feel. MgT has the OTU and 2300 AD settings, but CE is more experimental. The two brands can coexist side by side and reinforce one another.
