    MRQ Wiki - new

I haven't been active on the wiki for a long time. I'm not playing RQ at the moment, and if I were I would probably be using RQ6.

    Luther arkwright (maybe spelt wrong)

The Design Mechanism are producing a Luther Arkwright setting book for RuneQuest 6. Probably usable with the Legend system. http://www.thedesignmechanism.com/news/design-mechanism-announces-luther-arkwright-setting-for-rq6

This isn't mine but I have contributed to it.

    Having Fun With Spreadsheets

My spreadsheet does that. It doesn't do it with a table, though, it parses the cell text and adds in the appropriate stats. So if the "Stats" cell says "DEX+POW", then it adds in the DEX stat and the POW stat. If it contains "x2" then it doubles the result. So it can't cope with unusual bases...

Lowest Roll, Autmatic Levels of Success

I believe it. I remember a discussion around this issue a while back, and if anyone wants to change the system to use lowest-roll instead of highest-roll then go ahead, so long as you are aware that it does change the probabilities in a way that narrows the skill gap. I can see why it is...

    RQ6: Heroic Abilities

All major changes to game systems bring this kind of winners & losers problem. When Sorcery was re-written for MRQ, long-duration spells were removed. Tough. You can't cast Damage Boosting for a week any more. And in any case, no choice has been taken out of my hands. I can, and will, continute...

    Common Magic and the law

It's worse than that. In some societies, theives were considered to be murderers as the presumption is that if someone stumbles upon a thief, then they will be murdered because the thief can't afford to be caught. In an enlightened society, I can rob a house and if I go to jail then I just get...

    Common Magic and the law

I agree, in a setting where a little bit of Common Magic is as commonplace as a knife, the circumstances will be much more important than whether or not magic was used. In a setting where magic is unusual and noticeable, someone using magic will attract attention to themselves and if they kill...

    Common Magic and the law

Someone committing a crime will be punished as a criminal, and more harshly than in the modernesque world that your narrative describes. But someone getting into a scrap with a patrol from a rival clan over a border dispute might be a more likely situation in a roleplaying game. Or a...

    Common Magic and the law

Accidentally killing the wrong person is a long way from premeditated murder.

    Common Magic and the law

The game system does not have rules for accidentally dischargining a magical effect, but I would not infer real-world implications from what may be a simplification of actuality.

    Common Magic and the law

We should have the same rule in the real world for laser pointers.

    Common Magic and the law

This is all very dependent on the society. In a primitive, nomadic, or barbarian tribe, knowing "evil" magic (which is entirely dependent on the specific culture) will get you castigated, exiled, or killed, but other than that, tribe members will be assumed to have the good of the tribe at heart...

    MRQ Wiki - new

I have posted my accelerated spam cleanup technique on my user page. It requires Windows and AutoIt. I don't think that disabling all accounts is the right way to do it, could account creation be moderated though? Pro-active administrator approval requried to enable newly created accounts?

    MRQ Wiki - new

OK the wiki should be fully back the way it was now, including the spam blocking mechanism, and the ~1000 spam articles that were created in between getting the wiki back up and turning on spam blocking have been deleted.
