In further support of Prime Evil, here's a quick list which I originally posted over on RPGnet during a discussion about the prevalence and potency of 'true' magic in the original REH Conan stories. In my opinion, some of these effects are very ostentatious, at least visually... ;)

Yep it was in part, but it actually originated in the Conan story "The People of the Black Circle". Most of the book is homage to S&S or provides an insight into the practices of religions and cults of our own world. Thanks. Good luck with the conversion!

I wouldn't be so sure, considering I still haven't even received a courtesy copy of the lamentably butchered Blood Magic...

It looks like to me, that whoever did that part of the conversion used an earlier version of the rules. What is written for the NPCs is unadulterated MRQ1 Socrcery and MRQ1 weapon skills, which is a bit worrying since the supplement is supposed to be for the Legend rules. I could be wrong...

Save that the Conan story specifically relates to turning victims into statues by the touch of magical waters, and the Maal Dweb story revolves about the transformation of especially beautiful women in a garden to preserve them for all eternity - which I imagined are more pertinent aspects of...

...and even earlier versions being R. E. Howard's 'Pool of the Black One' with a touch of C. A. Smith's 'The Maze of Maal Dweb'.

If you want simple then go with Openquest. If you want fast then go with Legend/RQ6. BRP tends to lose out on both fronts, being more fiddly to set up and bogging down at higher skill levels.
