Read though the book now. It is nice to see so much of the classic stuff put back in. It is a big book with lots of info. Which is good. And no index. Which is bad.
The thing that I think gets me the worst is the Travellerization of the whole thing. I could just not abide the haphazard...
Cursed be international postal services!! It must be that I am too close to a gravitational well for the stutterwarp courier to work at maximum speed...
Minis! I Will Buy! I need Richileu, and an Aconit or two. And a Bismark. Oh, and fighters too. Well, I need most of them. I have asked before and, since I am utterly useless at 3D modelling; How hard is it to convert a 3D image to a printable model?
Hope not. I am actually a bit curious as to what that would mean, come to think of it. (yes i understand the lineage etc, but 2300AD is not Traveller)
On a decidedly positive note, I find he cover art very much improved since the First version cover still visible as background on the webpage...
M-kay. Not my non-existing Traveller-collection, though. Not to say Traveller delenda est, but I see no reason to base collections on core rules. Me? I just look forward to a nicely updated 2300AD universe in a massive book.
I have heard of the Mongoose tendency to not be overly much on time, so I guess I was prepared for some delays. Let us hope that they will manage to get it out within 3 months late tops at least.
I chose that picture as a reply to the earlier comment of the non-present carpace on the new illustration. The nature of the carpace is not evident from the sourcebook cover since that only shows the face. I never saw that magazine illustration. Sounds like a good one.
I always liked the Käfer...
Inside art varied greatly. I like some of it, whilst much of it is not really great. However, I don't recall ever having been confused by its rendering of Käfers.
5 pages of Kaefer pro/contra and one proper preview content comment? Feel free to correct me. Me? I suppose I would have appreciated a 2300ized attempt at Swedish. Would probably be very similar to the somewhat inexact expressions of one of the more popular muppets :)
