    For simplicity I maintain the 100d limit. For explanation I say it is because the volume of the object casts a 100x 'volumetric' shadow in Jumpspace. Entering jumpspace in this 'shadow' can be dangerous. Nothing to do with gravity.

    Don't think I'm missing the point. So I can detect ships going into and out of a system 3 years late. It does not tell me the type, where they came from, where they are going. It gives me a traffic count. Spies could probably get me more information. Spy satellites could get me more...

    It can still only detect Jump transits at the speed of light, so at the speed of all other "Long Range" detectors. It does not change how a ship would jump into the system for large navel movements. It neither increases nor decreases defense ability to react.

    So if you had one of these running, and a ship emerged from jump 1 parsec away, it take 3.26 years for it to register with the suite. The "Gravity wave" travels at the speed of light. It can detect stellar phenomenon at 30 parsecs because it is detecting it where it was at 30 years before...

    If it detected at 274 billion km in 24 hours it is travelling faster then the speed of light. Light travels ~24 billion km in 24 hours.

    Far Trader/Free Trader Power Requirments in High Guard

    Shouldn't the basic ship systems power requirement be 40 instead of 20 as stated in High Guard? The main rule book has them at 40 for 'jump dimming', and High Guard states Basic requirement is 20% of Hull tonnage, which would be 40.

    I read somewhere about one shot jump drives. It referenced Highguard, and was 10% of regular drive cost. Anyone know what supplement/article/post I am talking about? I cannot remember where or I saw it.
