Stupid Question - Can people come and just watch rather than play? I don't think I'll have my fleet painted in time :(

I was wondering if NA and SF rules would be aligned in the furure editions? I don't expect to have battles between the houses and the Klingons but it's a pain trying to remember two sets of similiar rules. Or is that the price of old age?
