Interestingly enough, he's been ruling Bhanar for 3000 years but the Kai Grand Master didn't have a clue about this: he was quite surprised when his allies told him. Apparently, this indicates that the cultural links between Northern and Southern Magnamund are very weak. Hope this helps. :)

They receive lethal damage only from legendary weapons (and energy attacks) in the RPG, too. I agree that they are balanced and well designed.

The Royal Guard and Border Rangers form the Sommlending regular army, which is mantained even in peace time. They are not elite corps.

I just checked, it's orange. The colours described in the "Darklands" for Vilefire are different. Lightning hand is often described as a bolt of flame in the gamebooks, but it's usually blue-white, if i'm not wrong. Perhaps Vonotar used a variant improved with his right-handed magic.
