Question about The Gods (or lack thereof)?

I'd say it's more akin to that the Gods make no appearance, yet there are Demons whom claim to serve ore are such beings...

    The First of Many

Impressive... Most, impressive. I have to say that I have more confidence in the new edition of Conan than I do in the upcoming revision of Star Wars d20.

    Evil Gameing

I never gimped my player's for playing the Dark Side. I found it somewhat lame to do so. As far as people playing evil, I think most go for show case evil, which a gm should put the smack down so hard they really think twice about their actions. I have played many an evil character in D&D...

Conan:Questions about Occultists, and Skill Mastery

I would say yes, as it is a sneak attack at that point. I would say that all permant intelligence changes are retro-active. This keeps things simple, and evades issues in making advanced characters and the like.

    sneak attack...

Zingarans don't get sneak attack because they're sneaky, but because they are a treacherous lot who'd just as likely kiss you as knife you in the back. If a people are treacherous by culture, and have a habit of murdering a foe when his guard is down would warrant such a racial feature. Most...

    Frazetta's Snow Giants in 3D

The detail is most impressive, but it looks like Conan is taking on two Vanir. The giants are very giant.

    Hyboria's Empires

    I'd be interested in it.

    Greetings - recommendations needed

I'd buy the Hardcopy, and keep the Pocket. That pocket is quite handy for players, or if you aren't running the game it'll light your load. In the Hardcopy, there are 3 common thugs, 20 animals plus variants, 13 demons and undead, and three templates. Road of Kings contains additional animals...

New to the forums questions/house rules etc

You info is a little inaccurate. The heavy armor that was dropped was Mail, Plate originates in the 14th century with it's peak use in the 15th. Plate lost ground to the increase in the use of firearms, not the bow. Still, I could see all bows either getting a die step increase or an AP...

    Hyborian - Common Language

I never liked the idea of a "common" tongue. I usually avoid it even in D&D, so I am quite happy with the existing format. If you don't want to deal with language difficulties, or advancing time forward a month or two, then you could allow intelligence checks to see if one understands the...

New to the forums questions/house rules etc

Some points I'd like to make is that though you may rule that DB can only be done in defense, how do you interprit defense? When attacked? That still doesn't truly stop the Fire Blossom effect. It delays it to a point later in the round. Here's what I mean. Scholar decides that do to some...

    Ability drain

I would swap ability drain for damage on the vampires, it just doesn't seem appropriate. All a vamp is doing is drinking your blood, and blood does return, so it shouldn't be permanent. Perhaps because in lore it does debilitate over time that you have to make a save for each point of drain to...

    Second edition

Just because one wants clearly written Magic Item creation rules doesn't mean one is looking for a Monty Haul. Some of us want a balanced and clear set of rules to work with. We pay for it, so we can ask for that. I'm all for more restrictions, high xp cost, rarity, elaborate rituals for...

    Second edition

I too think there was a bit lacking on the Item creation in SoS. It's also unclear on magic weapon enhancements and the like. I'd like to have a bit more info.

    Hyborian Bestiary

I like the elementals, they are fitting to the genre, and the creature summoned by Pelious in Scarlet Citadel seems to match what is described as an Air elemental in the Core.
