I'd say pocket core book (saves cash), Galactic guide, and League book for more POC race options, plus maybe Zocalo and a storyline campaign ish thing like the previously mentioned second season book or maybe a standalone adventure like Athena Strain to start things off.

I second this. I cannot afford large hardcover books real easy and I damage them pretty bad so the bindings come loose anyway. I am a big fan of the paperback mini books.

I hate to be stupid but when they say graphic novels do they mean like manga graphic novels or regular old foreign devil graphic novels or what? I could definitely dig a B5 manga but that would be way trippy...
