That Panther looks great! I wish I could paint camo like that. I can't wait to see some groups shots.

I like the spitfire! I wasn't going to bother with aircraft for my armies, but at that price and pre-painted I might have to pick up a couple.

That looks like a bargain way to get some pre-painted air support. I'd be interested in seeing some pictures once it's assembled, I might get a few of those myself. For bases, you could use GW's large flying base (2.50 for 3), the plane should be quite light and so it won't need much to hold it...

Nice paint jobs on those Germans! I made a similar move from 28mm to painting 1:72 models earlier this year, your results are much better than mine ;) You seem to have found the Italeri Fast Assembly models and the Armourfast tanks. Both are great ways to get an army built cheaply. Pegasus...

I'm not sure how easy it is to get Krylon here in the UK. However I think Plasti-kote is similar and I have some left in an old can in the garage. I'll give it a try on a spare infantry man.....if he melts or vanishes into a blob of paint I won't try it again ;)

    update 20-05: A.D.Publishing 40% SALE!

Oooooh  That would be great, I like Heavy Gear but even with the latest rules I find it can be a little too complex for playing larger battles. Bf Evo: Heavy Gear :D It's not much of a secret now though, is it? ;) SgtHulka, the models in the picture are 1/144th scale, so about 10mm...

Ok, some more details on those M3's. The models are Italeri Kit 7509, part of their Fast Assembly range. I picked mine up for £6.50 for one of my 2 local model shops, you can probably get them cheaper off the internet but I like supporting my local shops and it avoids any postage charges. My...

I'm planning on posting an article on them here, probably in a new thread. But, in short, I like them. They certainly make allied mechanised armies a little easier on the wallet. I'll a detailed write-up together over the weekend.

The bases are standard Bank of England one pence pieces, I think they are ever so slightly larger than American cents but slightly more expensive ;) My super glue didn't always stick the model to the base, some of the models came unstuck when I started painting. So I glued the models again and...

Ok, as promised some early photo's of my American Armoured Infantry. The Italeri M8 (Drybrushed but still needs detailing): And a group shot of the Revell infantry with the M8 (infantry is only basecoated so far): Still lots to be done and not the best miniature photo's I've taken, but if...

Well, it's bit late now ;) To be honest it was a case of buying was available in the shop at the time. I think they have some Italeri infantry in stock so I'll check for those next time I need infantry. Now the basecoat is on the infantry they seem to be holding up a bit better. We'll soon find...

Just bought World at War - Comments and Questions

The Greyhound (Italeri model) is now assembled, base coated, washed and dry brushed. I need to add the details next. 20 of the US infantry (Revell) is based up and base coated. The Greyhound seems a bit more sturdy now its fully assembled. But I am having a bit of trouble with the infantry, the...

No pictures yet. I only bought the models at the weekend and a combination of work and two small children limits my model making time to an hour or two each evening, even at weekends. I'll get the camera out at the weekend and give you an idea of where I'm up to.

Just bought World at War - Comments and Questions

I've been looking at the Armourfast and Italeri kits, the M3 Halftrack and Jeeps from Italeri combined with M10 tank destroyers and Shermans from Armourfast should allow me to build my army up in a relatively cheap manner. Although I might need to get some Germans first unless I can convince...
