I think of T5 as a big book of optional rules for consideration should Mongoose Traveller ever be found wanting. I just haven't had need of them yet, and probably won't, ever.

Of course they did, what we're distinguishing here is between what additional combat actions are actually within the rules and those which people are just making up. I don't think anybody is trying to say how realistic the rules are, but they are perhaps saying there can be more realistic ways...

DT, I'm in complete agreement with you. I never said that missiles are not propelled by reaction drives or gravitic drives, simply that it cannot be those types as listed in High Guard.... but exactly what does propel missiles I don't believe we are told anywhere, so looks like GM fiat.

I agree with CosmicGamer. Yes, it is not perfect. This might be what publishers do, but it still doesn't make me want to rush out and buy the book, although I can't actually buy the book as it's not available in dead tree format yet... When it is compatible with the other Mongoose Traveller...
