Oh yeah, and BTW, all of the GURPS Traveller vehicle stuff is in dTons anyway. There is a vehicle design section in the main GT book.

Cubic feet / 36 is approximate cubic meters.

I don't know why people get all hung up on the SAE units used in GURPS. If it says 5 yards, that's 5 meters. If it says a vehicle will go 100 mph, that's 200 kph. Etc. Those numbers aren't exact, but they're close enough for gaming.

Well, there is "Rim of Fire" but you'll have to do some conversion. A lot of stuff is either generic enough to not need conversion or already uses Traveller info (planetary profiles, etc). Only stuff like the character templates have "crunchy" GURPS stats...

Why not just use the explanation given in GURPS Traveller: Interstellar Wars? The mathematics known at the time to the Terrans would only allow calculations with a significant gravity well at each end - a rogue planet was discovered between Sol and Barnard's Star which allowed the jump in that...

Well, they can be designed to release their energy slowly (via a circuit). However, the "store energy until it's discharged" part is for a "perfect" capacitor. We have yet to find one of those. Imperfections in manufacturing, temperature, problems with the electrolyte, etc all cause losses over...

The idea sounds workable, but capacitors are only capable of short term energy storage - that's why they're not called "batteries". Of course, we could postulate technological improvements. Capacitors are designed to charge and discharge very rapidly.
