Here's my suggestion: one book (let's call it Across Time), with 5-6 different time periods (say Roman, Middle Ages, 1600s-1700s, late 1800s, 1920-30-40s, and 1960-70-80s). 8 - Computers and Software: First sentence reads: "Any technological society runs on computers..." Suggest changing this to "Any space-faring society...". The UK/US in WWII should be considered technological, and they didn't make much use of computers.
