Yep. In War of the Wizards, it's revealed that the reason the Shadaki have pupilless eyes is that they can see in the dark (or vice versa). It's also mentioned earlier in the Grey Star series that the Shadaki all have the same eyes. It seems to be a racial thing.

This is an interesting idea, and actually quite clever. The adventures create the market for the miniatures and therefore ensure interest. I can think of a couple of complications though:

If you head over to the Tower of the Sun, they have a mini-gazetteer in their downloads section that contains fan-made maps of Toran, Holmgard, and (I think) Ragadorn. They're pretty good, too.
