    Legend Unveiled

Wow! Very impressive! I wish this guy had done the cover. For my own two cents, I don't care for the new Legend cover either.

    RuneQuest 6

This is what Pete Nash wrote on the Design Mechanism forum. I hope Pete doesn't mind being quoted.

    RuneQuest 6

This is tough. Loz and Pete wrote the core book and most of the good stuff that supplements it. It sounds like Loz and Pete will use the same basic system in MRQ2 with some small improvements. If anyone is capable of perfecting this system, it's those guys. I'm very intrigued with what Loz and...

    Odh's RuneQuest II character sheets

Those are fantastic character sheets, a vast improvement over the original. The female version is a nice touch. I particularly like the inclusion of the hit location table on the sheet. Thank you for posting them!

    Ran My First Game

Fantastic! Another convert. I discovered Chaosium's RuneQuest during my high school years and played my first game of Call of Cthulhu with Sandy Peterson at a SciFi convention while still a teenager. I own Chaosium's Ringworld and Stormbringer. Despite the many years I spent using the BRP...

    restructuring Hit Points

I see your point, but I think your issue is addressed by how wound levels affect different locations. At worst a serious wound to a limb renders it useless. If it's a leg, the character falls prone. If it's an arm, that arm cannot be used to wield a weapon or shield. In either case the character...

    Stand-Alone sourcebooks.

I'm not happy about the new "reader's digest" format, but I understand why Mongoose is doing this. Presumably the new format will be cheaper to produce, allowing Mongoose to charge a lower price and, hopefully, sell more product. There could very well be a large untapped customer base of people...

    Stand-Alone sourcebooks.

I agree with taxboy. Mongoose should stick to its current format: One generic core rule book applicable to any setting and separate setting books containing only material pertinent to that setting. Including the game system with every setting book creates redundancy and uses up valuable space...

    Wayfarer Tweaks: Improving on RQ2.

Fine you win. We can call grimoire/10 intensity and leave the term magnitude alone

    Wayfarer Tweaks: Improving on RQ2.

I agree that the term "magnitude" should be changed to "intensity", but IMO Grimoire/10 should be called "magnitude". Grimoire/10 serves the same purpose that magnitude does for common and divine spells. What's confusing is that the term "magnitude" for sorcery spells refers to the ability of...

    First Sign Ups for Wayfarer

I'm guessing that you already read the official announcement about Wayfarer, but just in case, here's the excerpt from that announcement that addresses your question. "The Wayfarer rulebook will be appearing in the winter this year, and the current RuneQuest II range will remain available until...

    The "new" CM for Unarmed?

Those are good ideas Deleriad. I've copied them onto a Word document for future reference.

    The "new" CM for Unarmed?

Thanks for the link. They look cool.

    Since its cheap

Sounds like anyone who wants hardback, standard sized editions of the MRQ2 core rules or the Elric core book should purchase them before winter. Otherwise, wait for the, presumably, cheaper Wayfarer versions. In that case, as someone who likes hard covers (or at least the larger size for soft...

    Wayfarer

Yes, removing the references to runes won't change the mechanics of casting spells. IMO the magic RAW work great. If Mongoose needs to remove references to runes or Glorantha to create a generic system, that's fine, but the basic mechanics of spell casting should be left alone.
