I found it to be good, especially for the price of the book and I like some of the added extras:
-new Fate point uses
-expanded Reputation
-temptress addition
-clarification and corrections
-addition of Knowledge (Rumors) to assist stumped players (which I get a lot)
-updates and additions...
The first system I ever played was Vampire the Masquerade and they had Flaws. With Flaws (such as One Leg, One Eye, and Deaf), players earned more bonuses in the beginning when they made their character and earned more xp as the game progressed. That is how you could use permanent damage. As a...
I know this topic may not have to do much with Conan but it does to a point. Recently, a friend of mine discovered that Wizards of the Coast has suspended any rights to download old 3.5 edition books and then I believe it was yesterday that they brought lawsuits against 3 individuals for...
Not trying to beat a dead horse about complexity (I haven't had a chance to log on in a while), but I have three FFGs and I think that each game has its on style. Arkham Horror is a coop and can be hard to beat but we have beaten the game, especially when we have learned how to play and to work...
I think some of my favorite races are the Picts, the Cimmerians, and the Zamorians. I would like to try a Shemite or a Argossean sometime and I have a new player who is going with the idea of playing a Gunderman pike and shield soldier. In fact, a couple of players wanted to get together and do...
Just giving my 2 cents and letting you know my opinion, I played WOD, BRP via Cthulhu, pre-Savage Worlds Deadlands, Palladium's megaverse, WEG's old Star Wars, and 2nd ED AD&D all before I played D20, and I will say that D20 has some pros and cons:
Pros: rules meant to allow for a plethora of...
I have just picked up the new Conan 2nd Edition and I think the rework on the Temptress is a great idea. I like the new books, I like the additions and I like the way the game is played.
If I am using the rules for the Temptress "dual classes" in Hyboria's Fallen, what would I have to change...
Other than the adventures in Reavers what else comes in the books to make it good to grab up? I am trying to get my collection back up to snuff and I was on a "gaming hiatus" for a while and now I am going through "DT"s (Darlage tremors).
I think that if a player takes a full round action to draw the weapon from the victim, maybe it can be considered an attack also, and do damage equal to the weapon plus Str. due to the fact that you are aggravatingly "unsheathing" it from a wound. I am by know means medically trained but pulling...
I acquired it from a friend a long time ago for like $15. I like it, but being D20 makes it lethal and kind of limited to what a player can do (lots of Search rolls usually).
But for monster stats for Conan, I would highly recommend. Interesting stats for certain things in there. I have...
I'll have to look that S&P up, I was wondering about Tortage too. The group stopped over once and I was pulling stuff out of my back pocket for them to run into but could hardly think of anything. :?
I got the Shadizar boxed set and I had my player's characters travel for 4 game sessions til they finally all met each other in Shadizar. Currently they are battling the reconstructed temple of Morath-Aminee.
I think Shadizar is an awesome box set and great setting for a campaign.
