    The Revenge of "Smaller Weapons"

I would interpret the boxed text on pg 138 of the CSC to mean that any weapon with a base damage of less than 1DD can only have a maximum damage of 1DD, regardless of ammo. So, the HMG, 4D base damage, would get to 1DD nuclear. Which means the cost of the nuclear ammo does not seem worth it...

    Vehicle Hull Points Questions

It won't, necessarily, destroy it, just render it inoperable. Damage the grav system so it can't fly, damage the gyros so it can't correct rotations, etc. Like with a ground car: damage any of the various fluid systems, shoot out the tires, jam the steering. That's how I see it, at least. Your...

Removing Hardpoint Limits: Necessity or Heresy?

I have not seen 'The Expanse', so this is going off a quick internet search. If you have the CSC, using heavy/vehicle weapons could work. Things like the heavy autocannon do space scale damage, are rapid firing, and seem to fit the look, just reskin them to be rotary cannons. The railgun in...

    Referee's Briefing 4: Mercenary Forces

I noticed a couple small, very common, errors in the 'Tools of the Trade' section. The stat block for the VRF still has the 'Light Gatling Laser' label. The rest of the stat block seems to be accurate. Also, just noticed: the last sentence in the Gatling laser description has an 'm' instead of...

    Spacecraft sensor types for ships?

Under 'Sensor Types' on pg 151 of the Core book it lists, unsurprisingly, the sensor types. In parantheses next to each type is notes which packages include them. Which follows AnotherDilbert's table. Visual, Thermal, and Radar/Lidar are included in all packages. Advanced (which seems to need...

    Travel times question

Glad it was helpful, Tim. I was just as confused when I started looking at it.

    Travel times question

I noticed that as well, some time back, and figured out the math. The table uses different units than the ubiquitous kilometer, 'G', and minute. The travel formulas are straight out of physics, so units matter. Distance is best converted to meters, to match acceleration. Acceleration is...

Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

Indeed, misinterpreted the text. Though, I'll stand by the other ideas.

Challenge: Explain Our Planet (TR 3012)

The Traveller wiki (which may have already been researched; http://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Our_Planet_(world) ) Describes the inhabitants as Scout Service clerks. The planet may be set aside, by the Emperor, for Scout use. Or maybe set aside as an overflow world for when the worlds around it...

    Air/Raft

This seems like the place to ask (instead of making a new thread). Maybe being brand new to looking a Traveller (the beta is my first go at it) I don't have the background but, looking through the vehicle section just now, is there a reason that the air/raft and G/bike cost a quarter million...
