What Kind of Books are You Interested In?

Honestly, I’d say put out books that you the writers are interested in. I don’t need another take on "the Celts" or the "Aztecs" by writers who aren’t deeply knowledgeable and passionate about those historical peoples. However, if you’re someone who knows the Táin Bó Cúalnge inside out, then by...

What style do you prefer in Legend Supplements?

Still, assuming the cults are not precisely tuned to a specific setting, this could be by far the most useful supplement for RQ/Legend.

Comment on the State of the Mongoose

Do you give free PDFs with print-book purchases? I bought pretty much all the RQII books before I had a tablet and didn't find PDFs useful really. But now that I have a tablet, I use PDFs at the table when GMing, but a physical book to read when learning the rules and planning a game. Also...

So, who bought the RQ6 rules?

Don't have the PDF in front of me on this computer, but I think in RQ6 any movement will use up a Combat Action. So a charge taking a full round isn't that much more (2-3 CAs).

    Extended Tests

I mentioned that it makes sense with craft that one can take a longer time. So that a someone forging a sword under stress is likely to come up with an inferior product. That's all good. With social tests, a character with 60% influence (not that bad a score), looks to improve their situation...

    Extended Tests

I'm looking at the extended test rules: A&E for craft (pg 27 for RQII) and AoT for social interaction (pg 34). The victorious condition of an extended test is reaching 100% after 4 rolls, where a success earns 25% and a critical earns 50%. I've been experimenting with such tests before...

Arcania of Legend: Blood Magic - PDF Now Available

That seems to be a Leisure-Games only thing. Typically Bits and Mortar is applied to games where the publisher offers a "PDF + Dead Tree" combo from their online store. To my knowledge, Mongoose hasn't done this with Blood Magic (or other Legend offerings). For example, let's say I bought a...

    Battle Magic

Did you ever manage to dredge that pdf? I'm in the midst of flavouring the magic system and would like to see how you did it.

    Curious about your homebrews.

Cults of Glorantha ($1 on drivethrurpg) has a pile of cults. Keep the mechanics (spells, skills, etc.) and write up a quick back-story - degloranthafy it.

    Different New "of Legend" Settings

While that certainly may be true, I wonder... For example, I got interested in Elric because Mongoose published MRQII Elric stuff; I had never read the books before. To get into the setting I needed context, so I had to rummage around used book stores to find copies of the Elric books (which...

    Different New "of Legend" Settings

I think Wraith Recon is pretty good in the end. It works as a relatively generic fantasy world (with a few non-standard species). I find the 'Special Ops' aspect of the PC-group: neatly gets rid of all the 'we meet in a tavern' hassle and works well for longer campaigns as well as one-shots...

    Different New "of Legend" Settings

A couple of these suggestions have well-made BRP equivalents, so perhaps new settings ought to appear before duplication of existing product. We're just finishing up our year-long late Neolithic campaign. The Legend system works brilliantly for that era (I think), where the boundary between...
