I agree with tarkhan bey and Hervé, there is much more campaign potential in Turan than in Khitai or Cimmeria (I know it is where Conan is from, but the place is simply boring).

I haven't read Messantia but Shadizar has been a disapointment for me. It isn't bad (some bits on Zamorian society are actually pretty good, imo) but there isn't much meat in the meal. Much of it is inspired by non-Howard Conan stories, which weren't up to the challenge to begin with and should...

That's what I'd do too. But it may prove uneffective, if the guy is too distorded by his high-fantasy power-gaming/monster-grinding habits (Lyn Carter read Conan... look at the consequences !). Some people are just lost for good gaming, I think.

Never done this, although it could be interesting. Pictland is a boring place, imo, so I would rather go for a "group of Picts sent into Hyboria on a mystic quest of some kind"campaign. The cultural clash should bring lots of fun. Discover the world, meet interesting people, start fights out of...
