Doubles ARE fun, but can take a long time... A 2 day event isn't a problem for the Kettering crowd, but may reduce attendees who can't commit to a full weekend of shenanigans...

I agree with Charles (Da Boss) on virtually all his points. The only thing i'd add is that the Sulust seems - to me at least - to be a very specialised ship. Like Charles, i'd proxy something for a Liati, as it is an excellent Battle PL ship, which, if lucky rolls are with you, can be easily...

I would say that you can quite easily do without the P&P sourcebook, I very rarely need to refer to it :D Like Da Boss says, we're a friendly bunch of chaps, and we're always keen to play new opponents... just don't get me in the 1st round :twisted:

You can count me in matey... and, I would dare to say that Clanger (Paul), Greg and probably a-n-other from the kettering crew would attend as well.

At Battle level, I like the Shantavi as well for an option... Though I appear to be in the minority... As with many fleets, your selections are going to be more/less successful against certain opposition, but I would say that the only Minbari ship to avoid is the Troligan - it's just not as good...

I'll be driving the crew up, and, as Charles said, we'll be getting a brekkie near to the car park we usually use. 8)

Mark, any news concerning Neil or Andrew on this one? I know that they occasionally peruse the forum, but I thought i´d see if you knew anything that would deter their attendance... It would be a shame for them to miss out again :(

I think, that if you want to have as many people using their preferred choice of fleet(s) then just throw it open from the get go... surely the differing PL levels/scenarios would be enough to reflect the varied strengths/weaknesses of certain fleets. If someone, like Rich or Greg want to take...

Well, the Kettering crew can muster at least 4 - Greg, Charles, Paul and myself - possibly 5 if young Alex can be cajoled into attending... plus Burger and a couple of the other regular attendees (Neil, Digger etc...) we should be able to muster at least a dozen players - happy days :D I look...

So, if we said June 25th as the date. Rich, could you check with the church bods to see if the hall would be available? And, if this was the date, who would be able to make it? :?
