You're right. Ramen is tasty food ( well, real ramen and not instant ramen ) it is just that I am not all that interested in experiencing scurvy first hand.

Unfortunately, working as a contract programmer, my income is sporadic enough that I already have had a couple of days of instant ramen meals to cover my splurging on a $50 dollar book. I will be taking full advantage of the discount as I am getting really sick of ramen.

I had expected something like a bonus to ride, and a bonus to parry while mounted. I actually hadn't read the class feature, assuming it to be similar if not identical to the Kalamar feat of the same name. That is a kind of weird ability. I guess it means that your nomad can find the horse...

I didn't find this in the faq, so I may have to wait for an official errata. The feat states they can use a large shield with a pike at +2 instead of the normal +3 a large shield gives. The equipment section however lists the large shield as being +4. So does the feat give +2 instead of +4 (...

The gazetteer in the back of the rulebook has at least a beginning for info. At a glance, most of the information you ask for is included at least for a nation as detailed in REH's writing as Aquilonia.

My understanding of the hatchet is that it keeps its AP of 1 when thrown, but that the AP is reduced by 1 for each range increment after the first ( as per the note on the bottom of the weapon chart ). As for weapons with two AP numbers, maybe I missed something but which weapons are those?

I didn't find it on the Chaosium site either, though I already own my copy. It could be that it isn't in print currently. Chaosium only keeps a few of the Cthulu Cycle books in print at a time to ( I think ) cut down on costs. This year it may be one of the ones not in print.

Personally I'd say not to give them an even fight. In the case of the Picts being discussed above, have them come across a huge number. 30+ all at once and have them figure out that it'd be a damned foolish thing to fight them. Give them enough of a head start though so that they can run, and...

Personally, I haven't picked up the 3.5 D&D rulebooks and I won't be picking them up now that I have the Conan book. Any games I run in the future that are d20 based will be with the Conan system because it is just so much more fun. Myself, I am looking at a conversion of the Glorantha setting...
