I don't come over here much since the minis went away, but just saw this topic and read the Nov. 3rd Planet Mongoose.
I like the direction. I really like the idea of Judges as another option in addition to gangs, i.e.- a credit (point) balanced faction approach.
One suggestion, even if...
Jumping into reaction range also gives the enemy a +1 to the damage roll which I do not believe is the case when climbing or otherwise moving into reaction range.
Even if they were identical to a jump pack, I'd still like lizard lines for the extra game flavor and because they featured in the...
Ok, good to know. I didn't recall seeing jump mentioned in the falling rules (1stEd.), but then again I don't have the rules in front of me.
Lizard lines complicated? LAMI do get access to Nukes..
If the entire board wasn't difficult terrain and we were dealing with all experienced...
Two reasons.
First- Lizard lines give the climb attribute which reduces damage from falls that result from flinching. The size 4 plateau terrain being fought across would result in a 4" fall. That's d10 damage for models without climb and d6 for models with the lizard lines.
Second- We gave...
Jay, Not sure if you were the creator of a Horror mod I saw posted months ago for Evo, but some portions of those were used and modified again for the following game:
Ditto!!
Personally I don't care when they end. The first go around I was too busy at work. The second time I put in some bids 2 hours or so before the end and was surprised to win the Ape Marauder 3-up. I'd have the same issue on weekends with my time. If people bid what they are willing...
Those are way too small for 28mm but the fighter *might* be big enough for 15mm, maybe.. The dropship is even smaller and might be closer to use for 10mm or 6mm.
They're movie fan resin models, so I doubt they had gamers in mind when making them.
Linus, I understand what you're saying. However, people were gaming Starship Troopers in some form well before Mongoose came out with the game and will be far after. Back when I was playing 1st Ed. 40K a friend had Galoob toys we used. Alot of other Xeno/Alien/Bug armies are partly based or...
I was always a big fan of the movie, had only heard of the book, and had never heard of the CGI when I first got into SST. I started with 2 box sets picked up on sale at a convention in 2005 and followed it up with a handful of other models, adding 1 of each of the basic Marauders a Brain Bug...
Thanks Darklord. My future Skinnie army will be very grateful to receive a Skinnie Lord as general.
I also liked some of your Forth conversions/substitutes, especially the 3 lots of 2 walkers. I almost went for those, but I'm not ready to start a fourth army.
