    Aslan Territory

Possibly, it's about what constitutes an unacceptable affront to honour and that which is undesirable but not penalised. That is, someone else -- or an interest from outside the clan -- can enter the star system or take orbit over the planet, and that might be read as potentially hostile, but...

    Aslan Client-States?

Really, the very idea of a "state" is going to be applied loosely to the various non-Humans. Aslan are clan-based and attach territorial claim to the individual. They're more an enforced cultural zone and network of wary associations than a political entity. Hivers are...

    Aslan Client-States?

I imagine there are some in-universe maps that don't differentiate. For our purposes, they're evidently distinct in some way; Clans of the Aslan comes up with a reason. 🤷‍♂️ To most Humans they probably are no different. Just groups of Aslan in Aslan space that aren't part of the Hierate...

    Aslan Client-States?

But as you say, "vassal" is a well-established term when discussing Aslan politics. We know what it means. And as you point out, there is no vassal relationship between these clans and anyone in the Hierate. The term wouldn't be appropriate. Whatever they are, they're not vassal states, and so...

    Aslan Client-States?

I'll have to look over what's written in the book again, but I assume this is just an example of Imperial/IISS terminology being applied. Much like describing any alien system of government or relationship between political entities using English terms. I mean, this is the Fteirle of the...

    Singularity Errata

A few very minor spelling issues/typos in Act One. It should be "Irilitok" not "Irilotok" (page 120) "Othsekuu" not "Onsekuu" (page 129); clearly just a typo, since an earlier passage got it right.

Singularity Kickstarter - 3 Days Left

There's a lot of rich stuff in here. It's making good use of all the various power blocs and interest groups in the Core -- the nobility (from knights to dukes), the Moot, the Chanestin, the criminal syndicates, the merchants, the common people in the belter communities. I like how it's also...

    Sector 7,4

I wrote some deliberately vague stuff on the wiki for the relevant sector pages, extrapolating from what we know about the larger region. Basically: The Vargr might have reached it, some of them -- adventurous types, explorers, etc., who can say? The Extents is too vast and chaotic for any...

    Sector 7,4

That "island" with Koog Sector in the middle? So far as I can tell, no-one has done anything with it, officially or otherwise. It seems to me that if someone wanted to introduce a new power or notable race into the setting, that might be a good place to put them. It does look enticing, doesn't...

    Vargr exclamations/idioms

Which makes me wonder how that translates. I can see some Solomani thinking they're clever and using it as a stealth insult -- until the Vargr catch on. Although for all we know (or decide), Vargr have words to distinguish monkeys that they use as insults in the same way, and scratch their...

Hmmm... maybe "Pelts!", shorthand for "Pelts of my ancestors..."?

    Great Rift Adventures 1-5 - On Pre-Order & PDF!

I quite liked all the Vargr artwork; the religious dress, the various ranked costumes and insignia, the consistent aesthetic on various Vargr characters. And I never say no to colour artwork of the various species, so seeing a Salika depicted was nice.
