    Monster Defense Question

What do monsters (Like a dinosaur or other non-weapon wielding dude) do for defense? Do they just take damage and save their CAs for attack? Evade? Can they parry with their natural weapons? Thanks for any guidance.

    Question about: Evade in combat

I thought it might be something like that. Thank you. I used Evade in-game with a player who fought multiple opponents. Included the optional fatigue rule, and let the character attack on his next action (couldn't attack on the round he used Evade). It worked well, and the fatigue definitely...

    Question about: Evade in combat

Only been actively playing RQ2 for a short while, but I admit I have never understood the rationale behind making Evade so much different than Dodge was in the old RQ from Avalon Hill. If you Evade, you don't change combat distance, but you are supposed to be throwing yourself out of the way...

    MRQ Wiki - new

As for the MRQ2 wiki site, what is permitted to be uploaded? The game content itself is (I assume) copyrighted. But it also sounds like some of the game's authors are on this posting board and know about the wiki. If there are people from Mongoose reading this, does the company encourage or...

    Fighting at negative hit points

Actually I come from the old Runequest rules, which didn't let you use limbs at negative hit points, and the torso/head at negative also took you out of the fight. But the resistance rolls work for me too. I have to say, I like the new rules very much--no total hit points, combat maneuvers, and...

    Fighting at negative hit points

This is a noob question, but it looks like you can fight with limbs and even torso/head at negative hit points, as long as you make your resilience check. Am I reading this correctly? (p.95)

    One or Two Handed Weapons?

How can you tell if a weapon is one or two handed? I realize Longsword has specific rules for this, but what about other weapons? The combat example in the core rulebook says Thrace uses a longspear one handed. Is that correct? I would have thought it was a 2H weapon. Thanks for any guidance, pcrh

    MRQ Wiki - new

Rurik, the skills tables etc. you uploaded are a good thing. On another thread, the question was how to make RQ2 more popular. I think online resources like this wiki, where we can find rules, are key. One deterrent to my group trying RQ2 was the lack of online access to the rules (c.f., D&D...

    Online map revealing on-the-cheap

The mapping program is MapTool. It is very good, and has pretty deep control if you know how to use it--which I do not (very well). I have used it for online tabletop gaming a few times. It has good "vision" tools (e.g., you can apply it to walls in a house and the players, on their ends, only...

    Basic Combat Mechanics Question

Does it take a critical success parry to block a critical success attack? Or does a normal parry block a critical attack (though the attacker would get a combat maneuver)? Thanks for any guidance. :)
