    Not a good look

Pretty sure I have both in a box that I got from a friend who had to move into a smaller place. Also have Bloodtree Rebellion in there (yes, that's mostly non-sequitur, but a GDW game I would not otherwise have).

    (Developer's Diary) Encounters

AOC (military life) 4, AOC (warfighting) 4 seems a little high for a marine rifleman of no particular DEX or INT. If that means +4 with a rifle and +4 with Tactics, Recon, Stealth, etc. I would think 1 or 2 would be more appropriate. Marine Raider, maybe a 3, SEAL Team or Delta Force, maybe 4...

Singularity Kickstarter - 3 Days Left

Probably lots cheaper than grav plates, so no reason why you couldn't add a small per dton cost (Cr5000? - pulled out of a... lower orifice) for inductive charging everywhere. Guaranteed not to cause cancer, migraines, or growth or random extra limbs.

    Emergency Beacon Detection Range

I imagine those 200 year-old-scout ships are ships of Theseus, but it helps that parts are still standard centuries later. And if you believe GURPS:ISW the design for the Beowulf is essentially thousands of years old. As for the other item, let's just say that most of my relatives of my...

    Emergency Beacon Detection Range

I cannot comment any further other than to say the grips have been replaced, once by me, allegedly once before for other reasons... And the barrel probably ought to be.

    Interesting Photo

Change the clothes and he looks just like my neighbor. Hmmm... maybe I should make a tinfoil hat to keep my thoughts private.

    Emergency Beacon Detection Range

I have a perfectly good Model 1911 that was last used in anger... 80 years ago last month. I believe someone is still producing new ones.

Rules Clarification: Does TL10 Cloth Armor Stack with a TL12 Vacc Suit?

Oh, I have all that stuff. The problem is my squishy 3 pound search engine.

    Great Rift Adventures 1-5 Errata

There's some commentary in the main forum about this book, but it's not really errata (and neither are the two things I'm about to mention, really, but more suggestions). p. 5: Since the full background of the Islands aren't really spelled out in the adventure, it would be useful to use the...

Rules Clarification: Does TL10 Cloth Armor Stack with a TL12 Vacc Suit?

Some armour does stack. Period. But not all armour. A robot in battle dress? Sure. Biological and android robots are more limited in armour, though. Anything else would need a custom battle dress suit. How about a person with +5 subdermal armor inside a suit? Perfectly fine to stack that. I...

    Emergency Beacon Detection Range

Yes, you're right. That's what I get for overthinking it. Or not thinking it correctly. And ammonia appears to be the winner when it comes to the mass of hydrogen in one dton (about 1,685 kg). So, as long as M-drives only care about volume, completely raw fuels from ices, oceans, or gas...

    Emergency Beacon Detection Range

Not necessarily the same as oil->gasoline. But... While water might only be 1/9 hydrogen, it is still a almost as dense a way of storing hydrogen as liquid hydrogen. (Almost said better, but LH2 is 2 hydrogen, so that, if my math is almost right, makes LH2 9/7 as good as water. Not going to try...

Rules Clarification: Does TL10 Cloth Armor Stack with a TL12 Vacc Suit?

I didn't say skin contact exactly, but the cooling undergarments, urine collection, whatever, are part of an EVA suit and aren't going to work with just any set of clothes (or cloths), like a three piece suit or a party dress, and a cloth bodysuit would be worse. Except for the Polaris Dawn...

Rules Clarification: Does TL10 Cloth Armor Stack with a TL12 Vacc Suit?

Not disallowed, but I'm sure the vacc suit is doing active cooling and needs contact with both the body and the outside to keep functioning properly and regulating heat, so the cloth would protect you and it would stack, but the vacc suit could give you trouble, whether it was on the inside or...

    Great Rift Adventures 1-5 - On Pre-Order & PDF!

(FYI: learning more about astronomical interferometry, it needs accurate placement of sensors down to the wavelength of light its capturing (visual is 300 -700 nanometers) and exact time synchronization. Plus of course even if the resolution problem can be worked out, you still only have the...
