We're kind of conditioned these days to judge everything against something else, but it's possible to like both as well. 🙂. I still love the old black and white illustrations but really love the modern colourful mongoose versions too. If colourful brings in the cashflow to keep traveller going...

I do too to be honest, it's one of the reasons I was looking forward to the manual coming out. As a lad I grew up with Thunderbirds Annuals every Christmas which had the cutaway drawings and I used to pore over them to see how those machines worked :)

There's some good ideas coming into this from everyone, nice. Although, to be honest, my players "just need to know where.they.are" 😂

I don't think so, Matt said in the Release Schedule Thread that it's; "Not a rulebook - very much lore-heavy." My guess is that it's intended to help to paint the picture of what daily life on Starships in Traveller is like.

That's one of the beautiful things about Traveller, you can adapt the rules to your own style and that of your players. I can see the thought that's gone into Geir's rules and if that works for all concerned then great, crack on and glad you're enjoying Traveller :) Personally, my own players...
