The old Gygax game WARRIORS OF MARS gave XP mostly to killing things and rescuing princesses. I'm thinking that underhanded tactics would go against the Martian code of honor and maybe would result in negative XP.

I'm a huge fan of Janissaries. Mercs with machine guns against Roman-era soldiers ... a great setting! :D I understand that he was working on book 4. Wonder whatever happened to that particular project.

Actually, I would think that the prequel novels would add even more depth to the Dune universe and that this would be a huge plus for an RPG much the way the newer trilogy of Star Wars movies helped the franchise more than it hurt it. For people who only like "classic" perhaps the core book...

Indeed, I believe that Watership Down was her main inspiration. :) She wanted the players to do "rabbit-like" things rather than what regular people would do. This really messed her players up at first....

I agree. If I really like a game or module or whatever I'd rather have a printed copy so I buy it. The only exception to this would be OOP product which might be really expensive on e-bay, and I would have bought it from the publisher if it was still in print. Basically, I understand that game...
