IMTU, certain weapons carry computerised sensors that determine how, and when, they were discharged. Logs of those weapon discharges are uploaded from the weapons into the computer when the weapon is stowed, and these are added to the ship's log / mission orders...
Its a tough one.
If its a survey mission or rescue mission to an uninhabited world for example you will need to factor in the costs of fuel and life support, wear and tear on the craft plus on top fair pay for the mission.
It has to be enough that the characters find the job worthwhile...
Have you factored in fuel usage for life support etc? Its an extra 2 weeks at least for the jumps
