Hmm. Roman historical or Roman based fantasy setting? I would really love an ancient inspired fantasy world, myself. I have Gurps Rome and Gladiator Wars and between the two they help the HUGE VACUUM that exists for such games.
I think it's generally bad to try to make mini versions of cultures based on the large empires. Perhaps downgrade a little and think mound-builders instead of pyramids ...

Interesting, I've been wondering about the new Cthulhu in general but hadn't investigated it. I don't like the idea of portraying it as pulp, per se ... seems a bit cheap but bringing it into the new age of gaming is VERY welcome.
Interesting. I'm not a big fan of Gurps but I'm not exactly huge into game mechanics and there's not really a better way to RP ancients.

I have to agree with the binding comment. I bought mine today and from the handling it received in the store, it seems, well not on its last legs but pretty well loved at the moment.
I think this adaptation was done very well. There are so many thrown together RPG's out there and this is not...
