I'm just curious as to what tactics you guys use with your scholars. Do you use poisons and sorcerous powders? Do you use summonings (animals at low level and demons at higher)? Do you use curses and hypnotism?
On another note: have some of you created new styles and spells? care to share...
I don't know if this has been asked before but here goes; can a shield provide both a parrying bonus while in melee and, at the same time, provide a dodge bonus from arrows?

How about giving him a corruption point everytime he "blows himself up" more than once a week? After a certain number of corruption point he can be possesed or something.
...or you can rule that he can't make a move action before or after a defensive blast. After all it is called defensive...
How about allowing "finesse" attacks if within 30 ft of target? It would work like sneak attack in that you need to be close enough to find the vulnerable areas.
