    The only races that "have to have" initiative sinks are the boresight dependent fleets. Frankly I have won many, many more games by having throw away ships that can waste activations and allow my heavy hitters to kill real ships of my opponents, than by having the big ships on the table...

    I would also add that the extended range only applies to the target of the main attack by the hunting pack. Thus if you fire say at fighters in a side arc and a ship in your forward arc, you get the extended range against the ship in the front, but not against the fighters in the side. Dave
