    Paranoia’s 40th Anniversary in 2024

(delurks after a very long absence) I would definitely support an anniversary boxed set of 2nd edition. Like one of DC Comics' "Absolute" editions. Everything that was good about 1st turned up in 2nd anyway IMHO... A new edition of the regular game is crying out for more worldfluff detail...

    Play Time for Mr. Bubbles

I ran this module about a year ago. We completed it in four hours but only with some rushing through certain scenes. That was with three players - how many did you have?

Things to make the players do

Generally when I give new players their Secret Society missions, they're along the lines of "Kill another player but make it look like an accident". It winds up with them passing notes and being sneaky, which are great behaviours to encourage in the game, for the benefit of all :)

Missed the kickstarter, can we preorder?

It was said on the kickstarter feed that supplements would be available for general release, but with no schedule attached. I was in the same boat, could only spring for the box set + some dice in the end, and I remember reading that the other books etc. would be sorted for kickstarters first...

Any updates? / Paranoia-Live.net down again

    1) Wondering if we have any news yet on the progress of this project. I believe the books went to Eric Goldberg and Greg Costikyan for their feedback in the spring. 2) I see Paranoia-Live.net is offline again. Any sceners know if/when it's coming back? Granted, it was very quiet indeed of late...

Paranoia. New. Stay Alert. Keep Your Laser Handy.

I hear you, but there's no point releasing an edition that doesn't update things. People are still playing 2nd ed and the 2004 (1st Mongoose) edition, let alone the 25th Anniversary books. A new edition has to offer newness. Other than Paranoia, the only two RPG products I've bought in the past...

    I'm so excited.

I was sure there would be a new edition in the end (when Mongoose have lost a license they don't hide the fact), but James Wallis being involved was an unexpected bonus. However, as a loyal obedient citizen I will stick to a RED-level flush of excitement, outwardly at least :D

James "Baron Munchausen" Wallis?! Shut up and take my pre-order :D

    Any Future Plans for Paranoia?

Woohoo! Can't wait to see what's coming. Whole new edition? Kickstarted "new direction"? A line of novelty hats?

    Any Future Plans for Paranoia?

I am frankly more excited than I should be over this announcement of a forthcoming announcement :) Bring on September!

    What about Paranoia?

The suspense is killing all of us. I actually died shortly after the State of the Mongoose 2012, and have been posting to this forum by a combination of a Ouija board balanced on a graphics tablet, operating an onscreen keyboard. Mongoose have always been good about telling us things when there...

    Any plans for a reprint/rerelease?

I'd argue you could do the same with the published missions though - mix and match content to make your own missions - the only difference if you were plundering supplements rather than plundering missions is that the content was easier to locate in the supplements :) I think the 2004 edition...

    Any plans for a reprint/rerelease?

...aaaand now High Programmers is out of stock too! Pen-and-paper RPGs that aren't Dungeons and Dragons are a niche within a niche, and the market is probably smaller than it was even ten years ago (anyone remember how glorious the first relaunch was, with a supplement nearly every month?), I...

    Any plans for a reprint/rerelease?

If we're on the subject, I ran Mister Bubbles several weeks back, at the local (Mongoose-hosted) games club. Lots of silliness coupled with lots of paranoid behavior, which from players who had barely any knowledge of the game was most impressive - they jumped in with gusto, passed loads of...

    State of the Mongoose

/quietly hums the Whyyyyy are we waaaaai-tiiiiiing tune :D EDIT: I know why, of course; there is this company Matt needs to run in addition to writing very long, detailed messages to all his customers. I'm just impatient :)
