What's to stop you form getting the Conan books and simply using the d100 mechanics of MRQ? I don't think you need to wait for Mongoose's and/or Conan Properties' official blessing. You don't even need the MRQ books. All you need is the SRD. The Conan books are pretty good as world setting...
