    Steampunk Settings

Getting back to the OP's question (tho The Auld Grump's campaign sounds great! :D ), the game I'm currently working up is based on the Doc Sidhe books by Aaron Allston. The tech is a little more advanced that in the OGL Steampunk book - circa 1930's Worlds Fair stuff - but the magic system...

    The second movie

Bear in mind that Malak, whatever his ethnic origin, grew up in Shadizar and has extensive family there. Culturally, he is Zamoran, thru and thru. (we *are* talking about the annoying little guy with the two knives and the penchant for swallowing jewels, are we not?). Bombatta I would place...

    What makes the perfect villain?

Eh. To each their own, I suppose. For my money, the villain whose only motivation is wringing his hands together going "Bwu-haha! Aren't I *nasty*!" is boring.

    What makes the perfect villain?

In my opinion, all of the most interesting villians have one thing in common: they do not see themselves as villains. They do what they do for a reason (rather than evil for evil's sake) and they believe themselves to be in the right. Some (non-Conan) examples: Lionel Luther from Smallville...

New Adventure Concept & New Demon

Ouch. To be honest, the Whispering Shadow looks like it was designed for a Total Party Kill - if they see it they freeze in place, if it touches you you die, and it has 4 attacks... and, oh yeah, it can't be hurt. The last part is doubly serious seeing as how fleeing slaves probably won't have...

Any particular in-game effects to being a eunuch?

Not necessarily. Historically, castration was used to preserve a boy's singing voice, preventing it from deepening during puberty. If the child couldn't sing already, castration isn't going to help matters. And if it happens post-puberty, it will have no effect on the voice.

    Conan RPG for E-Tools???

I have looked at this product briefly, but that was before I got my hands on Conan. A few questions: How does it handle Dodge and Parry bonuses (as opposed to just AC)? Also, can it handle Power Points? Or armor DR?

Ummm.... Yah. What he said. ( I think...)

    Conan: The Throne of Blood

Believe me, I understand - I'm a 40-yr-old working father of two. I was simply casting my preference for an Open RPG game vs a PbP.

Old D&D adventures appropriate for Conan?

The Desert of Desolation series ( I3 - I5 ) was excellent. The most suitable for conversion to Conan would be I3: Pharoah - a really good Egyptian/Stygian feel to it (Altho, I would suggest dropping or changing the mind-altering maze - it didn't go over too well when I played it). Also, I1...

    Conan: The Throne of Blood

Let me provide a differing view point. Board-base RP never really excited me, except as an augment to a table-top game. I find that the rapid feedback I get from face-to-face or real-time chat RP really helps me define and develope a character, and makes the story move in a much more exciting...

    I must have missed something.

The downloadable map on the main Mongoose site shows Akbitana in the correct location.

    Conan: The Throne of Blood

I'm definately interested. How/where do we submit characrters?

    Bardiche - Superweapon?

Here's my first take at this house rule: If a weapon hits but does not penetrate DR and the armor's DR is twice the weapon's hardness, that weapon will break. Alternately, the damage is applied to the weapon - it becomes damaged and may or may not break, depending on the strength of the blow...

    Against the Thundering Horde

UncleBear: looks really good. The only problem I see is your archery example - the value used for DR is incorrect. Your example has his DR multiplied by 6, not 10. The text should read:
