    First Impressions.

I think you would find that you would be in the vast minority if you wanted to buy a new game system that you had to houserule from the get-go. That's like buying an X-box 360 that you had to do wiring and sodering before it would play properly. Doesn't happen.

    Changes. New things. Revisions. Reimaginings.

I only picked up the main rules, companion, monsters and the adventure. Sadly the holes in the rules (as I percieve them) turned my group off the game and we had several old vets of RQ 2-3 along with some newcomers to RQ trying to make it work. I love Glorantha but 3rd age holds more of an...

    Changes. New things. Revisions. Reimaginings.

I'm a huge RQ fan. When RQ2/3 was in it's day I grabbed everything I could lay my hands on for it, still have most of it. For me RQ IS Glorantha, always will be. Greg and Sandy breathed vibrant life into Glorantha that was DIFFERENT from the now all-consuming D&D. Now I've played the other...

How does it compare to RQ-2 / RQ-3

The more I read through the new rules and look at the sometimes really 'wrong' art the more I get the impression that no one at Mongoose really played RQ 2-3. I dunno maybe my expectations were too high but I'm rather dissapointed in this edition and my RQ campaign has suffered for it (gone)...

    Gloranthan RQ Character sheet

Heh, I used some of the stuff from Sapienza's sheets and from some of the other nice ones found here. I'm a fan of 1-page sheets so that's what ya get. Hopefully it's of some use to someone here. At the least it's easy to modify yourselves being a Word doc.

    Creating a character

Now you also have to change Truesword as that's exactly what that divine spell does in this system. Perhaps max damage and ignore half armor?

Converting D&D 3.0 characters to MRQ

If you have a copy of Thieve's World, I believe it has conversions in there for RQ to AD&D.. Slightly similar anyways..

    Other Literary Campaign Worlds

Heh, funny you should mention this but I did run a RQ-Gor campaign about a decade ago. Tu-chuks and all. Still have my notes around here somewhere, all on paper unfortunately.

    Gloranthan RQ Character sheet

Here's a tidy little 1-page sheet I created in Word for use in my Gloranthan campaign: RQ.doc Here's a version for those of you who prefer no shading: RQ2.doc It uses hidden table grids so you won't see all those lines on the printed version, hit print preview to see what the sheet prints like.

    Playtest Notes

I thought I would post some notes regarding the new edition of RQ and what our group found worked and did not work. We've played this new version for over a month now. Keep in mind this is from a Gloranthan perspective and 3rd age at that. Noes are organized by chapter. Character Creation...

    Lots of upcoming Runequest products

Oh I'm running Borderlands stuff now and will be converting the group to the new RQ this weekend. Griffin Mountain was a great book, still have it and likely to run in it again. I was just hankering for more Big Rubble stuff as there is loads of things they only made passing reference to but...

    Matt - Rulebook Errata ?

Mongoose strikes me as more of a pro-active company in publishing erratta and FAQ's rather than to adopt a 'wait and see' policy. Companies that don't support thier product sufficiently usually find insufficient customer's willing to buy thier merchandise. Besides they've already said it's in...

You'll get a kick out of this, Melkor...

Yup I don't see the need in a 2nd attack roll either. It doesn't add anything to the game and is not in keeping with the original rules. I like the combat actions, reactions and new strike rank system though. It's just a matter of do we want pc's to have to designate thier reaction prior to...
