This is perhaps not technically an errata, but an… oddity with the (otherwise beautiful!) artwork.
Compare the Brize on p.83 with the Torana on p.100. They both have near identical turrets for their Ripper guns, except the Torana turret is proportionally a lot bigger than the Brize’s. Odd...
Electronics (sensors, computers, comms…) tend to be among the most important and most TL dependent equipment, so replacing them with high TL equivs while saving money and manufacturing capabilities by keeping TL ’lower, but good enough’ elsewhere does make sense imho.
The book does mention some high-TL imperial gear, such as battle management systems on p.44-45 (Imperial mil-spec version being TL15 and presumably in widespread use) and the bit on p.82 regarding the Brize light grav vehicle (but presumably valid for other vehicles as well) talking about the...
IIRC yes, 1e had more penalties for autofire, but you could also pair up the hit dice any way you wanted after rolling rather than before. Rather than rolling 3 pair of dice for example, you rolled 6 individual and paired them up any way you wanted, so it was easier to get at least one hit.
Sorry, but what does the new Vehicle Handbook have to do with anything?
Stealth is an option in the current VH, what I found peculiar was that it isn’t used in the Armies of the FFW book designs.
Like I stated previously, the replacement designs Astrin & Trepida both have it in the Third...
Virtual Gunner replaces up to 10 gunners, whereas Virtual Crew can replace up to 5 pilots/gunners/sensor operators.
If all you need is one gunner and one pilot, Virtual Crew is sufficient. If you need to automate dozens or hundreds of gunnery crew, Virtual Gunner becomes a better option.
One thing I wonder about is stealth - or the lack thereof. No vehicle seems to have any form of stealth, despite it likely being massively advantageous - especially for the Imperium, given that their most likely opponent is stated to be mid-TL insurgents and the like.
The Trepida, Astrin and...
Glad to read this, as this was exactly how I was gonna do it IMTU!
I like the new designs, but the old one is an iconic classic (and I noticed that both imperial and Zho classic style BD are featured in the book)
Wasn’t in mentioned somewhere in the book that the imperial army is most likely to face off against mid-TL insurgents and the like, thus them using ACR and other simpler stuff? While also having access to Gauss weaponry at need, at least for some units?
Speaking of Gauss weapons, the marine...
P.88-89 The plans for Brad’s house seem to be rotated 180 compared to the exterior map on p.87
P.87 shows some form of structure or storage to the lower left or the house, and fence close to the top short edge.
Ground and 1st floor plans have the structure/storage to right and fence close to...
