Oh I'm glad to see Fading Suns stuff come back into print.
I love the setting but I seriously hope the 3rd edition system gets a major overhaul. I'm currently running fading suns with BRP and it works nicely.
Im just wondering if anyone can fill me in on the details of how the new books will be covering tech?
Will the computers still be 10 ton monstrosities that require a degree to program?
Will Cyber and bio tech still be essentailly unavialable to PCs?
Does the game still have the 70s sci fi...
The new West End Games (owned by Hellsreach over on the RPG.net boards) still has the rights to TORG and will be releasing new material eventually after they get their new d6 Sci Fi game "Septimus" (written by Bill Coffin) out to market in the next couple of months.

personally as regards armour vs bullets Id go with the Stormbringer way of doing things. That is give armour a dice value that si rolled whenever a hit is made. Eg kevale armour is 1d8 and so on. This stops anyone ever getting cocky because they are weraing heavy armour as they may roll low for...

I think so, the diference between alloting your improvement rolls and a class system is that a class system inherantly penalises you for certain allotments and promotes certain others. MRQ doesnt do this (Unless you count the deminishing returns of putting IPs into already high skills.)
