God i like mechs! So why is it that Batteltech is the only good mech war game. Why cant mongoose do the same, so way not make a robotech war game? thoughts?

i love robotech, the children of the shadow would make good minis aswell

if they could make transformable models for the mecha you could easily switch to the different modes and take to the air

only thing i see being a big issue is the scale, as you have the giant mecha and zentradi, but then humans and the robotech masters are small. maybe 1/65 similar to bfevo with the mecha not being to large (kinda like the soon to be helos)

any mech game is always going to be compared to battletech though which is long running and succesful.
to be better than this would be hard, and would prob mean running very similar game mechanics IMO.

I think that Harmony Gold has already made their own selection as to who is getting a game based on their Anime. And the initials for the system is PB. Harmony Gold learned not to license their stuff out to as many companies during the 80's and 90's.

however a certain PB company isn't doing to well, the system they used was good but they could of thought of a better way for the mecha combat side rather than just multipling the numbers by 100!

not so much robotech but the origional macross universe what lend itself well for a ACTA/VAS treatment and a Evo system, the amount of detail the range has, the amount of ships, fighter and vehicles lends itself nicely,

I'd love to have a squadron of VF22's represented in mini form.

Have you considered Epic: Armageddon from GW? Seriously, you get some big Mechs going there. And little people who are about as big as two ants...

If you want more Robotech-sized Mechs, I think it'll take a serious license to make a dent in Battletech's turf. Robotech might even be too dated at this point, but there are plenty of other anime titles out there. It would be fun to see, but there are already fast Mech systems out there (CAV, Heavy Gear Blitz) so it wouldn't be a slam-dunk by any means.

Some sort of Mech game may be worthwhile, but I would prefer a generic one where any makers mechs can be used

in fact there are so many mecha shows around, it would be hard to choose. Armageddon2089, would allow MGP to do a game without having to worry to much on the legal side as it is theres. However the problem is not many people know of it.

hence the use of an anime or american mech orientated game would fit the bill, as people will be able to attach to the background, take SST and ACTA for example's.

personelly I think Robotech / Macross would suit better towards the ACTA / VAS side of gaming while other shows lean more to the Evo side.

Full metal Panic would be brilliant as an evo game, its heavily mech based however the line combat forces still use tanks and infantry, the two sides of warfare compliment each other, you could have all sorts of adv rules, like the ECS invisible mode, Lambda driver, AS pilots foot slogging it, then there would be RAH-66's with the Mithril side, Hinds and apache's or whatever for everyone else, infact mongoose will have allready made most of the regular military forces allready with BF:Evo.

Actually I think starting tomorrow i'll start a FMP mod, just how do you deal with armour on a Mech?

I think you are right on LBH! That would be a great one for Evo!



I do think that people should try to look at the gaming industry as a whole as if it was on the frail side at this time. Some maybe more fragile than others, but we have to help all of them survive. or at least try. I support several companies and do not want to see my friends going out of business. We all lose out when one of those companies sinks during these times of trouble.
