Burst Fire in Legend/Runequest

Postby The King » Tue Jan 21, 2014 2:28 pm

Are there any rules about Burst Fire in Legend or Mongoose Runequest?

I find this gaming system an improvment over the BASIC RPG and I intend to use this rules as well to play in a modern setting (1920's), so it would be of some help to simulate gun fires.

Have you seen the RQ6 firearms rules?

You'll find them over at Design Mechanism's site.
As Legend is so close in mechanics to RQ6 you should be able to use them as is.

Arms of Legend also has firearms rules, but only for early modern black powder weapons. So, RQ6 firearm rules are better as those include also modern and sci-fi guns. Although those need slight conversion, because combat rules are bit different in RQ6.

Thanks Olaus Petrus. In fact I don't even know the difference between Legend and RuneQuest VI.
I own RuneQuest V (i.e. Mongoose RuneQuest 2) mostly for Glorantha and I think (but this is just a guess) that Legend uses the same rules framework, the only difference being that all references to Glorantha and RuneQuest were suppressed.

Legend is basically MRQ2 sans Glorantha. Arms of Legend in Legend version of MRQ2 book Arms and Equipment. RuneQuest 6 is new edition of the game system, written by the same people who wrote MRQ2 rules, but published by a different company, The Design Mechanism. The rules are mostly the same, but there are some major differences.
